Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. Early Broadway performances include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. She was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director, has spent the majority of her career working with famous directors and actors both on screen and in television. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC in the form of a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be in the month of March 2023, when he is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the crisis in America that picked across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment proceedings in over 100 years. Ashford starred for two seasons in CBS popular comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin as well as Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You won her the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway credits. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford currently splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
