Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of her four siblings, was born on August 8, 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Her parents, a dentist and teacher recognized and supported her love of theatre and drama as early as she was a child. This outweighed her desire to become a primatologist thanks to her fascination with monkeys. When she was a teenager rising to the heights of fame was fast and punctuated by early recognition and success. After finishing her studies as an actress, she was part of the French talent-scouting television programme Jeunes Premiers. In addition to her acting profession she also has a keen interest in photography. She recently exhibited some pictures at the Arles Film Festival and wore the name Superficial. In her photographs, she focuses a lot on celebrity and the media. The camera is turned at journalists who have been scrutinising the actress following her sudden success. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and stardom with her major role in Le Fabuleux Destin in the film d'Amelie Pouulain. Amelie was a worldwide box office hit, receiving accolades at award ceremonies around the world. The movie is the highest-grossing French film across the US. Following that film, the actress appeared in a variety of films, in everything from British films to Jean Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday de Faancailles. Later, she made her way to Hollywood and appeared alongside Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code.
