Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actor. She sings as well. Her mother was her primary caregiver in the USA in a place where she endured many racial taunts that caused her to feel as someone who was not wanted. When she attended a 9th grade school audition, where she received praises for her singing as she built confidence. It not only boosted her confidence but was also a change in the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. At the age of 22, she graduated at the Julliard School of New York. At the age of 23 she began her career on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, aged 23 she made her film debut in You've received mail. The role in The lad from The Lake is her most memorable break, earning her the Tony Award in addition to critical acclaim for her role. Her fame grew when she appeared in Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. In addition to being an acclaimed singer she has released two solo albums and a longer piece. In addition, she's an activist who is active for LGBT rights.
